Hopefully you're right. I can't imagine being on the enemy side of the river without having anywhere to hide except under the bridge, AND being shelled daily. Those guys are heroes.

I feel like this bridgehead is a trap for the russians, and Ukraine is prepared for any assaults that russia make.

The Russians must be seriously pissed off that such a small bridgehead is defying all attempts to crush it.
