This is beyond ridiculous for a country the size of a continent. Build more homes and infrastructures? It's not like Canada is a poor third world country with its resources being siphoned to Europe while CIA is preparing their next training coup on them.

Everybody knows the cause of the housing crisis is the government’s heavy-handed suppression of new housing construction.
I wouldn't say it's THE cause, but having fastest growing population growth since the 70s DUE to immigration definitely contributed to the crisis.
