Was he supposed to be doing something specific during halftime? If so why didn’t they just switch off the tv? If not who cares?

(I don’t watch football, so no idea)

You listen to an inspiring speech if movies have taught me anything. But I imagine there's probably an inspiring speech in that movie at some point, so yeah, I don't know what the problem is.

Did they want him to be stewing in guilt and stress for the game going badly or something? If you're definitely going to lose why not just not worry about it?

I don't know much about football. But I did play saxophone in halftime shows. And teams sometimes return to locker rooms.

I was in band for 6 years including college and I still could not explain the rules of football to someone

I have no problem with his choice to watch a movie, but to choose to watch The Polar Express? Has he been checked for chronic traumatic encephalopathy?

Was he supposed to play on the terrain or just stay and watch?
