In summer 2020 the neighbour hand raised an abandoned starling fledgling who then decided the entire street was his best friend, and demanded we take him for a car ride every day. Vito.
He adored the car and would sit on top of it and yell in the morning when it was time for my husband to drive me to work. You never realized that you could recognize a bird's individual voice but you absolutely can.

My friend raised a raven chick a few summers ago.. I worked nearby and he'd come visit everyday. He stopped coming back home after about half a year.

It was magic! He's still around, not as tame but still yells in the neighbour's window a few times each spring.

They are parasitic in North America, having been imported here in a rather interesting circumstance, but they're very sociable.
