I am a little surprised that there are still Usenet groups that are active for non-sketchy reasons, but I am 0% surprised that a group of TTRPG/FRP players have found a thing that they like, and refuse to change editions.

@DerisionConsulting most of the traditional text groups are available as they always used to be. the problem is that usenet as a term now is used so much for the filesharing in the alt.binaries that I saw discussions on r/usenet asking what discussion groups had to do with usenet.

Yeah, usenet discussion groups are surprisingly active. I dip back into em on occasion just to see how its going now and again.
