Anyone know what is going on with mastodon.xyz?

My primary account was made in 2017 on mastodon.xyz and the instance appears to be down. Does anyone know what is going on with it? Is this a temporary thing or is it gone forever?

Found out what is happening. Apparently the domain was supended, but they said they should be back up eventually.

To http://mastodon.xyz users: we're down, the domain was apparently supended by the .xyz registry. I can't get in touch with them, or my registrar, before tomorrow so expect a few hours of downtime

Waiting for a reply from .xyz registry, they say max 48h, hoping it will be quicker.
