How do you choose your scent of the day?
Hey guys! Now that my collection has expanded past a few bottles, I'm curious how others sort and use their scents? I just kind of pick something that vibes with my mood/outfit for the day. Do you sort by season or have another rotation to make sure you are using all of your scents?
For the most part I sort by season, and before heading out I usually check the weather report. These days when I'm in a rush and it's hot out, I reach for something soapy/laundry smelling and just use a little. Sometimes when there's more time to choose, I might reach for the ones that I know don't get a lot of use (if I feel they're right for the temp/humidity).
Also have to ride a couple packed trains in the morning so I need to try not to suffocate anyone.😭
I totally get the packed train thing. Luckily I work in a small office with only 3 other people (one of which is my husband), so I don't have any issues with wearing loud scents. But I can see that being tricky! I've been reaching for lighter scents with the warm weather, but warm fall scents always find days to creep back in!
I honestly don't have a system. I tend to just pick perfumes based on whims and plans for the day. I don't really pay attention to seasons, so I'll be wearing a winter perfume in the summer. 😄 When I get new perfumes, I usually prioritize testing those for a full wear over wearing what I already have. I usually put on two a day depending on the perfume's longevity. I don't use all of my scents, and this year I've been trying to be better about that.
I don't really do a seasonal rotation either. I can see how some fall/winter scents would be heavy in warm weather. But I'm a fall scent girl through and through. So I wear them year round.
I only wear perfume when I'm going out for something meaningful, I work at home and I don't feel like perfume for doing groceries. For that, I think about the mood I am in. Sometimes I try also to think about the ambiance I'm going to be, in so I don't suffocate anyone on super powerful scents! But mostly it serves my feelings of the day so if someone dies, someone dies hahaha
That's fair! I definitely can see a difference in daily scents vs special occasion.
