Where to learn practical rope techniques?

I've been investigating rope play and see many sites who teach the normal knots. I've practiced some of them on myself and am slowly gaining comfort. But what I lack is how to tie (no pun intended) all these concepts together. For example, if I do x knot on wrists, what are the appropriate knots for tying to a bed post or another body part?
In most largish cities around the world there are rope practitioners to learn from, check FetLife, MeetUp or similar and you'll almost certainly find something.
