I didn't like Joplin when I had it synced via my NextCloud. Too many issues. Once I switched to a free Dropbox account... Never had an issue since. I love it

@Le0 @techgearwhips @NeonBeal I loved Joplin but ultimately I didn't want my family to deal with having to extract data from a database if something happened to me. #obsidian appealed to me because in the worst case, it is just text notes in a folder which are accessible without the app. However, since switching to obsidian, I have been pleasantly surprised with the possibilities the software offers.

I've been using it about a year now, have it synced to Nextcloud and find it rock solid. No complaints, it just does the job. It also handles html tags - for that nice splash of coloured text.

As you have already tried those 2, now also try Joplin server it's great.

True, but hosting Joplin server offers collab and note sharing as well if you have multiple users, so it was just a suggestion in case you need it.

Note-taking on the go is something I'm rarely prepared for. [@fdroid](https://lemmy.ml/c/fdroid) has Joplin. I've recently changed to it and like it a lot. [#FOSS](https://mas.to/tags/FOSS) [#App](htt | Spyke
