I believe it originated from those, “Paul a part Mall Cop” poster edits where the title would get more and more absurd. Right around when people were posting elaborate essays using the title characters r/sbubby became a place for absurd media cover/title edits.

I had that gun. Used it to play the hell out of one shooter on the wii it was great.
