Lather: Barrister & Mann - Leviathan - Shaving Soap
Post Shave: Barrister & Mann - Leviathan - Aftershave Balm
First shave of the new year (I've been sick and haven't felt up to it), and unfortunately it didn't go well. It felt like it was going well throughout the shave, but I somehow ended up with a few small cuts on my neck. This razor is more aggressive than what I usually use, so I guess it's not that surprising, but still unexpected.
Post Shave: House of Mammoth/Declaration Grooming - Cerberus - Liniment
A nice lather from Garibaldi. Yet another soap base that benefits from a heavy-ish load. Coconut is high in the ingredients list, but you'd never know it from the lather. The scent seems light, but it sticks. Even after using Brut and Cerberus, I still get whiffs of the soap. I normally never get whiffs of soap after rinsing it off.
Razor: Wolfman Razors WR4 Al tester on Blutt BR-1 (gen 2) handle
Blade: Feather Professional
Lather: Fine Platinum
Aftershave: Wholly Kaw and Mammoth Iced Tea
Fragrance: Stirling Soap Co. Executive Man
@[email protected]'s two days of Aventus dupes motivated me to copy him. For some reason, I don't have a single Aventus dupe splash, but Iced Tea pairs really well. The Chypre frag genre is my least explored direction, and I really only know it in the form of Aventus dupes. But that's a problem for future djundjila who will have dutifully created some vacancies in the soap and splash storage. Hopefully. Maybe.
Yet another great shave with the WR4, almost too great to be fun, as u/VisceralWatch has noted.
I wasn't too keen on the aluminum used for that prototype but understand completely why it was used. When I tried the prototype I used a stainless Wolfman WRH2 handle to give me an idea of what the razor would feel like in a heavier material. I ordered mine in brass and enjoy its heft.
I kinda like the feel of aluminium razors. I somewhat avoid buying them because of longevity concerns, but enjoy using one when the opportunity lens itself.
Razor: C.V. Heljestrand MK 31 11/16 Celluloid Full Hollow
Lather: Stirling Soap Co. - Executive Man - Soap
Toner: Thayers - Lemon - Toner
Aftershave: Stirling Soap Co. - Executive Man - Aftershave
Fragrance: Creed Aventus
Talc: Yardley Classic
2 passes. Face lather. Excellent shave.
Great shave today and my last day of my Aventus dupes. I've enjoyed this and it really helps to have a bit of the real fragrance on hand for comparison. I think I'll use the next two days to visit dupes of Green Irish Tweed and Silver Mountain Water.
Post Shave: Thayer's Aloe Vera toner; Lavera Mikrosilber Creme
Meh head shave. One pass and done, it got way too late anyway.
First I thought that the Hawk with this blade doesn't really work that bad for shaving my head, but after applying the toner I saw a couple red spots of irritation. Thankfully the Lavera cream with micronized silver particles was there to calm the skin down.
First two early shifts at the new nursing home are behind me; so far it's really a different style of working: less rushed, more individual. I still miss my old co-workers, but I actually look forward to what my future assignments there will bring.
I don't have any Aventus dupe, so the dupe of Terre d'Hermès will have to do. Heavy sneezing lead to a rather big cut, and I was happy that I hadn't taken out a straight. The Tedalus is a very nice razor, with an excellent balance, that's well worth it's money. I'm not the biggest fan of the magnet closing mechanism - which defeats the injector mechanism of the blade - but it's a joy to use.
I've had it for over a year I guess, in any case, before I started using straights seriously. The price is high, but it's not so much more expensive than the priciest Feather AC razors.
If you really want to flex, you should check out the Tedalus DE razor 🫰🫰🫰

A shave and a warm shower is just the thing after shovelling snow for two hours…

Good shave. We are still experiencing an abnormally mild winter, can’t say I miss the cold much.

Woodshop Wednesday
Woodshop is an incredible scent, and the SBS lather was super slick as always.
Rating: 4.5/5

Gesundheit! Is that Tedalus a recent acquisition? I've been intrigued by it but suspected that it couldn't possibly be worth its price.

Yeah, 750 chiefs is more than I've ever considered paying for a razor, safety or otherwise. I guess Tedalus took inspiration from the watch industry 😅
Maybe with a diamond, they could have gotten over 1000 chiefs 🤔
Lol, I think V2 will get there just by switching to titanium or something :D
