I don't know what desktop publishing is and at this point I'm too afraid to ask.
The wording is somewhat ambiguous. Its a publishing app for Desktops (Windows/Linux/Mac/BSD). Similar use cases as Adobe InDesign.
In simple terms many of your newspapers magezine pages etc would be aligned and designed using this software Afaik 3 of newspapers in kerala uses scribus instead of adobe
Support for other formats including InDesign is huge.
