Idk why but I feel like ranting right now. I basically misstepped big time a while ago and wanted to share.
My first job was ₹4LPA (~$5k/year) as an SDE-1 at a startup. I lived at my parents' place so I didn't need to worry about stuff. I asked for a pay raise but my employer kept telling me he'll do it in the next quarter (which never arrived).
I used to feel unmotivated and burnt out really often, but somehow pushed through a year.
Why did I stick to that job?
Gaps in CVs are scrutinized. Breaks are discouraged. Everything has to happen quickly or you will need to justify what you did while job seeking.
Quitting a job quickly (within a year) is scrutinized unless you already have a better job offer in hand.
Haha, I think you need to know a little more than HTML for back-end dev 😅
Also is that salary per week, month or year? Because if that’s not per week that’s not worth anyone’s time
LPA is lakhs per annum. ₹8LPA is ~$10k per year.
Okay, still awful but not quite what I was thinking 😅
My rent is low in my area and costs around ₹60,500 per month, so that’d barely cover my rent for a year

Wow, minimum wage in the province I live in Canada is around ₹16.58LPA. That’s what you get working at McDonald’s.
