So, I was going about my day when I ran into a guy from middle school that I used to play football with. Its been quite a few years since we had seen each other last, so naturally we started catching up. As we were talking, he introduced me to his wife.

As he's introducing me to his wife, he says, "He was the only popular kid in school who didnt bully me. He was a real friend." I was stunned and humbled to hear him say this, and I couldn't help but feel a surge of emotions.

It's true that I was considred "popular," but it was never important to me to put others down to maintain that status. I've always believed in treating people with kindnes and empathy, and to hear him say those words today was a powerful reminder of how our actions have consequences that can reach far beyond our teenage years.
