I made this. Every live Twitch channel in the top 1,000 is a tower, its height is its viewers, and each block of colour is a game. It redraws itself every minute from the Twitch API.

The fun part is that it moves: someone goes live and their tower grows out of the ground, a raid lands and a tower shoots up, two streamers in the same game trade places and the city stages a 4-minute duel between them.

You can also play: click a tower and "scout" it. If it climbs in the next 30 minutes, you score, and the further it was from #1, the more points. It also runs 24/7 as a Twitch channel with no streamer at all.

The Last Museum is the largest search engine for museum art. It uses semantic search, allowing you to search for artworks by theme, style, subject, vibes, or any description you can imagine.

We currently have around 5 million artworks indexed, and strive to eventually index all museum art in the world.

Solo project I've been building this month, wanted to share here. The rules:

You get $10,000 and two secret years of real S&P 500 history, drawn from 1928 to 2019 (daily data, dividends included; your cash earns T-bill rates while you hide). One button: BUY or SELL. Your opponent is a couch. It buys at the start and never moves.

Every finished game is audited by 1,000 monkeys. It's a permutation test 1,000 replays with your same time in the market and same number of trades, on random days. Beat 90% of the monkeys and your win is stamped TIMED THE MARKET. Anything less is stamped LUCKY, in red ink, on your settlement document.

About 84,000 games have been played so far. The couch has won 63% of them. Roughly 1 game in 9 ends in a win that survives the monkey audit.

There's also a daily hand, same secret window for everyone, streaks, and a public ledger of humanity vs the couch.

I have spent much of the last two years updating my website to include artwork and scans from the original magazine/newspaper/anthology the stories were originally published in. I am still working on making reading on the website the most enjoyable experience it can be.

It's a long dead project, but still a beautiful site

Who would have thought that an eerie and creepy 3D chatroom game from the 90s, Worlds Chat, would still be somewhat active? We are so lucky that we can find out more about all of its internet mysteries from the past! Thus, let's explore it, and see if we can unearth anything about its famous urban legends!
